Everyone will remember the success of world league divisions on previous rugby games and this would be an even more popular game mode with the addition of American and Japanese teams from their respective competitions. Even if teams weren't licensed it is a simple way to add more variation and long-term continuity from season to season rather than toiling away year in year out in the same competition with little turn over of players. You could start in the Fifth division of world club teams and work your way up through a simple relegation/promotion system and recruit players year to year to add to your team (which can be entirely made up of bot players if need be, or one of the lower tier teams of each competition). Anyone else keen on this idea or have any thoughts on how to improve it?

The game needs more updates. Fully agree with people. We need improvements to Pro Careers and Competitions and more licences.
Yeah definitely agree. This game has got old real quick with no proper player development and decent career options. Even if we just had the ability to create the tournament ourselves and make it available for everyone. Please have a serious look at this option WW combined with some real player growth involved
Anyone else feel like the game desperately needs this right now? I finished the current game modes in a couple of days, need something with a little bit of stickability .
Where has this thread been? What an awesome idea. A bit of something new and exciting in an otherwise currently excitement-lacking game. Great way to resolve all the complaints around lack of season to season relevence and will give everyone a long-term project. Linking this in with Be a pro would be amazing
Bring back world league. Nawali!
Great job from you and your team, loving your approach to improving this game
@12camerondavies Currently we are taking to the table a lot of the discussions on this forum and although (for obvious reasons) I cannot reveal which ones / which ones we move forward with, just know that we are looking through these conversations each day 🙂
I saw conversations in the media this week that world rugby is working with Clubs to create a World Club Rugby competition so this might not be as farfetched as you think. Would be great to watch in real life, so you would think at the very least be able to be incorporated into a game. Imagine watching Crusaders play vs Leinster, or Exeter come up against the Brumbies. Great option in-game for multi-season continuity and building, and would incorporate a number of the other points people have raised around academies, recruitment, player development and retirement, and effective budgeting. If this mode is created would also tie in well with the Be a Pro mode as an incentive to play well and get picked up by teams in the higher grades. Would really tie together so many of the longevity repairs suggested and add something you could play forever.
@WW - Cole what's the word here any hope of this happening? Looks like this threads gone pretty quiet at the WW end? Love world
World league, me oh my yes boy! If we cant get it in-built surely we can create this in-game? Once everyones got it at least all the unlicensed teams can be accurately(ish) updated. Is creating this in game possible at this ?
I'm on board with this in a big way. Career mode at the moment is so limited at the moment its not worth playing. Bring back World League!
I was just going to make a new thread on this topic before I stumbled across this. Has anyone got any feedback if this is a real possibility? The new patch was actually really good for little gameplay shifts, hopefully they'll take note of game mode info like this on the next one. Man, huge effort from Safiti on those team lists and actually looks suprisingly fair at first glance - how did you come up with that order? Lets get more people on this topic so we can get it on a future patch
@safiti_jj I dont know if this world league will ever happen but either way that one unreal effort with the tiers! Haha. Love World league and these teams look perfect start

Would an academy system be too hard as part of this? Would be a great way to add even more longevity to the mode (and normal career mode) if you had to worry about choosing and devloping up and coming players too. Great idea either way though would be awesome taking a minor team all the way to the top
Love the idea of making this mode a real feature of RC4. Imagine the amount of invested interest and play time you would get from taking that team from 5th Tier tournament all the way up through smart player recruitment, budgeting, player development etc. I dont believe it even requires having all teams licenced - this could be remedied later through playerhub and team creations. This mode would get more play time then all others put together and I know it was where I spent all of my time on previous iterations of games. Great work so far the people at WW on RC4 so far - please make this mode a work on and it will add so much more to the game
World League is a really good idea, for sure. It satisfies that itch of taking a low-tier team up into increasingly tougher competitions. The promotion/relegation angle is key, as is player progression/regression, stamina management, and properly sorted division table with concurrent competitions to gain extra cash.
The real opportunity is evolving the mode. How do you acquire players? In Rugby 08 there are a few windows during a season to shop for eligible players. In Rugy 18 you can also get loan players. I know it's rare in rugby, but what brokering a transfer? How alive does the competition feel? AI teams should rise and fall through the divisions along with you, and compete for acquiring players in the market.
How do your players progress? Is it by training, in-game performance, or both?
How much cash do you start off with and how do you gain/lose more?
So many cool ways to make this mode really shine.
This would make this game SO much better. Every other tournament is too short or lacks any real variation. Please, please get this
Please make this happen!
A must have addition. Do this well and it makes up for all the current bugs in this early
