When passing to your forwards from the ruck using the d pad they have absolutely no forward momentum, always taking the pass standing still which makes it very difficult to gain metres.
Similarly, from a scrum, if you pass to your fly half using L1/R1 together he takes the ball standing still, but if you just use the normal passing buttons the 9 passes it straight to the second receiver bypassing the 10 completely!
Good observation I have also experienced this issue when playing on PS4, Hard Difficulty.
Thanks for your feedback guys!
i think all the players need about 5m more depth behind the ball player at least when attacking, everything is too flat no matter what the tactics are set to but the forward runners are by far the worst culprit. they could also do with more width, they all seem to stand too close to the player inside. when the backline is set to 'wide' the wingers are usually in the middle of the pitch (i think as a result of so many players needing to join rucks on pro). Also, almost every miss pass (LB or RB + A) goes directly to the winger because there are so few available passing options in the line. Heres an example of my right winger being 'wide' and catching the ball 15m from the ruck

I've noticed this, too.
I would expect forwards to be flat-footed when your offensive shape breaks down, for sure. But if you've won a ruck, and your forwards have had time to prepare, they should be running onto the ball with at least some momentum.
I've been using LB+RB to pass the ball back from a pod to either the 10 or 12 (depending on whoever happens to be there...this is another issue) in order to distribute the ball out wide, but the lack of movement from the second receiver kills any momentum. It seems like LB+RB is more intended to set up a kick.
Is there a way to set up the 10 to consistently be the primary distributor via either first-receiver or out the back from a forward pod?
