I have experimented with Toulon, Tolouse, Auckland and Wellington... Edited the player speeds to reflect the following and the difference in gameplay was immense: Front /Second Rowers: Speed 20 Acc 100 Back Rowers: Speed 40 Acc 100 Backs: Speed 70 Acc 100 Back 3: Speed 80 Acc 100
I used 100 for Acc due to the limited effect it seems to have on players taking off from a standing start Now that fwds are more frequently committed to the rucks, the space for the backs can be better utilised and it creates a more open game as opposed to 2 pasess and a ruck, recycle, repeat. It is also easier to exploit gaps where as the default settings make this very frustrating. I understand the need to protect the photo scanned players and their likenesses for legal reasons, but would love an opp to experiment with real world players, even if it is just the sliders and positional ability.
It may not be a true reflection of their real life abilities, but the overall improvement is huge. There is also room to make exceptions for a Beaudy to set speed to 90+ or a Dane Coles to 40+...
