Been doing a lot of editing recently so not played many games, but decided to play a season. Enjoyed it, but here are a list of my biggest gripes that will hopefully be fixed by a new patch, and that will vastly improve gameplay and the enjoyability factor:
SUPPORT LINES- some are good, some are horrendous, some are non existent, some are too far behind. These really cause annoyance when after a good line break with a player in support, that player decides to run far too close/far/directly behind the ball carrier and not in the wide open space for an easy pass. This neatly brings me on to....
PASSING - still room for improvement, passes going to ground when there is a player in space and right next to the ball carrier, passes going to the wrong player, ie not the one next to the ball carrier, but 10 yards back to the wrong player. Frequently causes me to miss out on easy tries and is super frustrating.
FULLBACK POSITIONING - both AI not joining/leaving the line appropriately and missing in defence/not chasing back, and the user fullback randomly joining and leaving the line (this should only be controlled the user as was the case in RC3).
STAMINA AND REPLACEMENTS - needs tweaked, players don't fatigue enough, AI doesn't use reserves, substitute fatigue levels drain drastically faster than starters.
FORWARD RUNNERS - has improved, but the forward runners off the ruck still need a bit more forward momentum/movement and the supporting pod players being first to join the ruck, which leads on to ....
RUCKS - quick bind should be the player closest to the ruck, heavy should be for forwards only. Hopefully that would improve ball retention.
I realise probably all of the above points have been raised already, and are hopefully being addressed. Looking forward to the next patch.
Ps logos on created kits!!!
Created kits- have a complete overhaul. Use something similar to pro evo whereby you can create kits and emblems and import.
Have a series of blank kits by brands that you can customise.
Have colour for shirt, shorts and socks.
Defence.
Scrammble, blitz, drift
Choke tackle- although I'd rather not have that game killing tactics in the game
Push over mauls and try!
Career mode
Growth and depreciation of player stats should be included.
Form and rivalries.
Defence again,
Back 3 position further back to support the full back.
More time for 15s to then kick back when receiving a long kick down field.
Sidestep could be improved, better footwork moves.
Dummy pass, scrap the down swipe on analogue and have it similar to your cancel kick approach, l1 followed immediately by r1 cancels the pass.
Should be more difficult to play hard and fast on wet pitches.
Conditions should have more bearing on catching and passing .
Can't think of anything else right now. Solid game, best since rugby 08, miles ahead 9f rugby 18 or 20, could do with some tweaks and adjustments still.
License would be great if the 6 nations license could be their.
Stadiums.
You have murray field stadium, but do not have the millennium, parc does princes or the aviva. Feels slightly empty without them 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺.
Editing teams stadiums does not then reflect on career mode sadly
Career mode again.
Autumn and summer internationals aren't in career mode.
If you do super rugby season+internationals. You will start in world cup, super rugby, then tri nations
Then pre season and super rugby plus tri nations and repeat till next world cup.
Would be nice to have summer and autumn international tour options. Even better have the lions as part of career mode aswell.
Going one step further would be a really cool feature if this was added, and also to pick which nation you toured and received a tour from, or received an invitation from etc.
Career mode management offers, do these exist have yet to receive one after 2 seasons yet .
