A few ideas for the next update if y’all are gonna be continuing with them:
in regards to the prepare kicker option:
please make sure the Flyhalf is always the player who receives the ball with this option, or if they’re unavailable to do so, maybe the player with the second highest kicking stats.
whenever I’m in a pressure situation and I need to clear the hall out. I select the prepare kicker option wait for about 5-10 seconds then press R1+L1 and the ball Always goes to someone who can’t kick. Please fix this.
another option I’d like to add:
it would be nice if you Can add a system where you can choose who ur first receiver will be. For example in real life, the springboks sometimes utalise willy le roux as first receiver. or the wallabies would sometimes utalise kurtley Beale etc. because sometikes my first receiver by default is either a winger, or the inside center when it should really be the fly half. Or sometimes if I have another play maker on the field itd be nice to utalise them.
This is one of my pain points, as well. L1+R1 from the ruck will pass it to either the 10 or 12, but they are lined up on opposite sides and you can't choose which one you want to pass it to. When they receive the ball this way, they receive it flat-footed which is problematic for attack.
Rugby 20's only saving grace is its various real-world attack shapes, which would be amazing to have in RC4. Nothing wrong with straight up copying another game ;)
I'd also want some visual indicator underneath my playmakers to see where they are at at a glance, and be able to differentiate between my 10 and 12.
Thanks for your suggestions guys. The general rule we have in at the moment is that it does in fact try to find your #10. If they're not present it will try find the next best kicker who is open enough to kick. Preparing kicker is not just utilised for drop goals but kicking for touch as well. Hope that helps 🙂
Thanks for clarifying that, Cole! That does indeed help.
So if I'm using L1 + R1 to pass to a playmaker out of a ruck, and the 10 is on one side and the 12 is on the other, will the pass always go to the 10?
@HisGreal In theory yes, however it could also go to the player in the most open space out of those 2.
