Hi, seems like most of the ongoing bugs have been listed here, which is great if they are patched!
But I have a few ideas that could possibly be explored in future updates (some of which have already been mentioned)
When playing with End to End camera, when you take a mark, it would really help if you could toggle the same camera that is utilised at kickout - where it rotates as you rotate the player. This would allow for more accurate switches, and also a more zoomed in camera setting (you need to have a pretty zoomed out setting to see enough of the field without this ability). So some sort of toggle or trigger to quickly switch to this camera would be perfect.
Goal kicking for me is a bit too hit or miss. By this, I mean you either have a sweet spot that is too large (lower goal kicking slider), and it’s too easy to kick a goal. Increase this slider, and you start getting waay too many out on the fulls, and not enough behinds when you don’t nail it. A simple solution would be to just make a wider area of the bar that results in points, but another issue is when trying to kick a shorter distance goal. You don’t always want to pump it through, but as the game doesn’t know this, it thinks you’ve ”kicked” too early and kicks a munged kick. Ideally, a better solution would be that you would first select the range/distance you wanted to kick for goal, and this would then result in a wider “sweet spot” for shorter/straight in front goals, and a much narrower sweet spot for long range goals. Imo this would make for a much better goal kicking “mini game” than the current one.
Am I right in saying in Evo 1 you could call for the ball as a midfielder at ball ups (non pro mode)? Obviously this is possible in Pro Mode, but square does nothing if you swap to a midfielder at centre ball ups. Right now I feel like that even when your own ruckman wins taps, it almost NEVER goes to you (or a teammate). Is there any reason not to allow this? (I personally find the ruckman rap minigame a bit pointless, and much prefer to be a rover). This leads me to my next point.
it’s going a bit away from how this game goes about it, but is there any chance that when you have the ball in general live play, a modifier button (L1 or whatever) could possibly be used to bring up an option to quick handball-link up to the four closest team mates? Ie you’d get the ball, hold L1, and the four closest players would have a Triangle, Square, Circle, X above them, which you could press to hit that target. This could lead to really cool link play, and less quick get-out-of-jail bombing it forward like is generally happening so far. If players “set up” for these handballs, even sometimes to a position behind the player with the ball, it would be much more realistic in finding a way out of packs.
We need more tactics! And please let us make changes using the D pad, without needing to have the ball. Some further tactics would need to include “flood back”, “push to the wings”, “ice/switch/give a sideways option”.
Tagging. Definitely don’t want the whole team tagging heavily (like many, I already reduce man on man sliders and fatigue increase to force this), but would be cool to assign an individual player to tag someone who is a threat/dominating.
interchange. Obviously the ruck/second ruckman situation has been covered (even giving a primary ruckman 100% stamina doesn’t help keep them on for much longer!), but please let us make interchange and tactical changes at each quarter, half and three quarter time break! Very frustrating to wait until after the first bounce to do this.
as mentioned also, it sucks when you don’t know you’ve marked it, and play on for a holding the ball. Any chance of a unique vibration could be assigned for a mark so you instantaneously know you’ve taken it?
The wind. Does it ever affect kicking DISTANCE? Ie, can it ever be down the ground, resulting in kicking in one direction being shorter than the other? If, as expected, it does not, could it be implemented? Would make for a more realistic game. And the natural follow on question to that is, can we have say in which direction we kick at the coin toss? Right now it probably doesn’t matter due to the above, but if wind can be from any direction, it would be a big call. (A map with a wind arrow in the pause menu would be enough to know which way it’s going). - speaking of the coin toss, why is Max Gawn the exact same heigh as Trent Cotchin and every other captain? Looks bizarre!
Hopefully a few of these ideas could be implemented, as they’d help the game take a closer step towards how footy is played.
With regards to the goalkicking I've always thought that the system that was in 05 and/or 06 was the best where you had the ball moving at the bottom and you had to line it up with the goals. The size of the goals was dependent on how far out you were and the speed of the ball also added another layer of difficulty
Hi @ptrg
Thanks for the suggestions, you've gone into a lot of detail which is much appreciated.

We've heard a number of requests for a feature along these lines and we'll probably be looking at improving cameras in a future patch. Goal kicking for me is a bit too hit or miss...
For clarity on this: Are you referring to goal kicking on the run or from a set shot? Am I right in saying in Evo 1 you could call for the ball as a midfielder at ball ups (non pro mode)?
I don't believe you could do this in Evo 1 but thanks for the suggestion, we could probably look into this for non-pro mode.

Just curious what your main motivation is for wanting this. What are you finding hard to achieve with the current handball system? Is it to make it easier to aim? Or faster to do? it sucks when you don’t know you’ve marked it, and play on for a holding the ball. Any chance of a unique vibration could be assigned for a mark so you instantaneously know you’ve taken it?
I quite like this idea. Internally we have been discussing better HUD display around marking the ball, but I like the idea of aiding this with vibration.

The wind does effect kicking distance in the game. In addition to that, the winning team in the coin toss will try to automatically choose the direction that the wind is favouring at the start of the game.

This is something we'd like to fix/remove but it's a current technical limitation we have with cutscenes where multiple players interact. (In the coin toss they shake hands) And thanks again for all your other suggestions!
