I’ve noticed when simulating games, most of the time you will get decently scoring games with around 40+ scoring shots, and sometimes you will get games that have results like 30-30, and both teams typically score either 0 or 1 behind.
Was wondering if this happens on purpose or if it is a bug? I sim games on 7.5 min quarters
Hey @Perf, thanks for asking this question, I'll do my best to explain as best as I can. The simulation data can vary depending on the quarter length. As you pointed out you are simulating on 7.5 minute quarters, so you'll have a greater range of high vs low scores than say simulating on a 2.5 minute quarters and obviously the bigger the quarter length the higher average scores you'll simulate.
Rather than having every game end up on the same score we do try to give some differential with both high and low scoring games, and that's where you can end up with games 30-30. Obviously with the less scoring shots the less likelihood of a behind being scored and sometimes you can end up with those games where there is only a few behinds being scored.
Hopefully that explanation helps and if you feel strongly this shouldn't happen I'm happy to pass this on to the dev team to see if there is anything they can do.
