is there anyway we can have a higher salary cap when negotiating contracts, signing free agents and trades etc. I completed a season and earn a total profit of $12,000,000ish. My salary cap when negotiating contracts was only $6,000,000 and I could only resign 12 players and the other 14 players had to be delisted. Some fo the players want too much money. For example a player like Tom Williamson for the Blues that played in the reserves all season wanted $500,000 when their current salary was only $110,000.
I restarted coach career to try and earn more money by paying for less staff and choosing a better sponsor etc. I finished the season earning a total profit of $21,000,000 and still only had a salary cap of $6,000,000.
I played a season of player career and finished the season. All of the players that had an expired contract had left the team. All of the players on the list were random generated players from the draft and there were not many real players on the list.
I enjoy the realism of the game and the game is great and enjoyable but I want to be able to play multiple seasons with the same list, improving each year. I think it would be fun in coach career if we can keep every player we have on the list and maybe have a bit of extra money to sign free agents etc. It will be fun if over a few seasons you can develop a really strong team and get players from other teams as well as keep your current players.
Hi @SlugSR20 , Thanks for the suggestion. I've passed it on to the dev team to look over. The salary cap in the real AFL is deliberately designed to be the same (or very similar in some cases) so that all clubs are on equal financial footing for paying players. This is why when you earn extra money in-game you can't spend it on your players. That said we understand where you're coming from in terms of it being less fun as it limits your ability to make a "super team". We'll keep examining this area and may make some tweaks to how much players ask for etc. I do like the idea of you potentially being able to set the salary cap to a different value when starting your career.
