1.Draft Rating values: The ratings and age of new draft players in career mode are too high. I like how with trading draft picks, they are matched with a ratings value which is way more accurate. It would be good to see this portrayed in the draft pool. Top 10 picks shouldn’t really be higher then 72- 74 with potential rating being the real incentive to draft a player. too many in the draft pool are rated in the 70s even 80s, should really be just the cream of the crop. It would be good to see a majority picked with a rating in the mid 60s so it coincides with being the lowest ratings in each team squad as they should being the youngest undeveloped players.
2.Delisted players: delisted players shouldn’t be getting picked in the draft until very late. For example, out of the 6 players I delisted, all of them were picked in the top 50 of the draft by other teams. The AFL have preseason draft for this Very reason for recycled players to get a second chance. Top 70 in the draft should all be 18 aged players with a mature pick here and there, yet to be on an AFL list.
3.Reserve squads: While it is good to have reserve teams play each week coinciding with the AFL fixture, I have noticed there are double ups with players playing for the reserves and senior team in the same weekend. This should not occur. If they are selected in best 22, they shouldn’t be playing reserves as well. Also, noticed that the whole AFL squad are not available for the reserves squad. For example, If a top player gets dropped from the senior side, they don’t play reserves as they aren’t even in the reserves squad.
4. player contracts: players out of contract who haven’t played senior games reguarly are demanding too much money. It’s almost like the algorithms are set for players who don’t get opportunity to demand more money. But this thinking is incorrect. Players that have breakout years should demand more then fringe players or rookies that don’t play seniors.
Hopefully these suggestions can be implemented in the future as they will make career mode more playable and more accurately representable of the AFL.
