With the AFL finals fast approaching, Wicked Witch (WW) has been hard at work to push out a steam release for all PC gamers to enjoy. While PC gamers are already able to enjoy all the brand new content and the latest bug fixes, console gamers are not far behind and will soon be able to enjoy all the following improvements in the upcoming patch.
Here are the details behind the major changes and some of what console players can expect to see soon. While we cannot give a date yet on the upcoming patch for consoles, rest assured that the team is hard at work to get it to you as quickly as they can.
PC Specific
Exclusive to steam, players will be able to enjoy AFL Evolution 2 in 4K resolution and 60+ frames per second. Hardware is your limit for enjoying the game on Steam. PC gamers will continue to enjoy fresh fixes and updates as the WW team continues to build the most authentic AFL gaming experience.
Competition Mode
At the end of last season, no one could have predicted how the AFL 2020 season would pan out. The WW team has implemented the revised 2020 fixture in competition mode.
Meaning you can play through the 2020 season at their updated location, including the Night Grand Final at the Gabba.
Around the Ground
In the latest update there has been a multitude of changes to the AFL stadiums starting with the addition of the Coles, Rebel and BHP logo for AFL and AFLW matches. Other changes include big and small fixes to stadium design to match their real life counter-part which also includes adding small details outside the stadium.
Online
Creating an engaging online experience in AFL Evolution 2 is something WW continues to strive towards. While this area of the game continues to be tested and improved across the board, the real feedback comes from the community and the fans. In the latest patch there has been changes made to the handball mechanic, ball and player prediction and general gameplay.
Broadcast
One of the most notable changes to the game is the addition of brand new cut scenes to match the AFL broadcasting experience. With multiple new cut scenes and animations across the game, this new addition will help to provide more player personality.
Player Ratings
As the season comes to a close, the WW team have provided another update to player ratings to reflect the player’s current form heading into the final stages of the season.
Feedback
Given PC players are the first to check out many of these additional updates, we ask those players to keep the feedback coming about these updates here on Wicked Sports. It's the most direct line between players and the dev team and gives us the best chance to hear your feedback and put it back into the game.
Thanks for playing, and happy AFL Gaming!
